The drawn cup needle roller bearings with open ends of the HK series consist of a thin outer ring and a needle cage. The needle cage consists of a sheet steel cage that holds a large number of needle rollers together and thus prevents them from falling out. The drawn cup needle roller bearings are closed on one side.

The essential feature of the drawn cup needle roller bearing is that they have a very low profile due to their light design and still have a high radial load capacity. Since they are closed on one side, they are particularly well suited for the closure of bearings at the shaft ends and thus offer protection against dust and moisture as well as accident protection.

The needle roller bearings are standardized according to DIN 616 to 618
